An 11-year old girl was removed from her home and came into the custody of DFS due to allegations of sexual abuse by a man her mother knew was a registered Tier I sex offender. At the time that minor disclosed this to the mother, she failed to report to the authorities or protect the minor from the abuse. Mother experiences symptoms of mental health conditions, which are inadequately treated and impair her ability to care for minor. At this time, this minor girl is in need of an attorney to represent her wishes and legal rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place.
