A 10-year old boy was brought into custody of Clark County Family Services (CCFS) due to various concerns of parental neglect. Reports of inadequate shelter alerted CCFS to the situation– both the mother and the child were found to reside within a small vehicle. It is in this residence, that the mother was found to both store and regularly administer illicit substances; the usage of such substances severely alters the mother’s ability to properly care for her child. This child’s mother has several charges for violent and aggressive behaviors. Concerningly, this child has had his educational opportunities deprived– at 10 years old, he is unable to recall his last memory in the classroom setting. This vulnerable child requires an attorney to represent his legal rights, the next hearing is on December 19th, 2024, and will take place in Courtroom 12.
