This client, who is a prisoner in custody of Ely State Prison, filed a civil rights complaint pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 1983 for excessive force claims. Shortly after an incident where the client propelled urine onto correctional officers during a pill delivery, the client alleges that the responding correctional officers used excessive force during the cell extraction. While the client was initially combative, he complied during the restraint. However, despite his compliance, the correctional officers beat him several times, which resulted in a bloody eye socket, vision impairment, two black eyes, ear damage, and lacerations on his ankles. The client requests 11.3 million dollars in civil damages.
