Two siblings, ages 7-year old boy and 6-year old girl were removed from their home and are now in the custody of DFS due to Mother’s drug use, mental health issues and lack of resources. It was reported that the mother’s drug use and untreated mental health conditions compromise her ability to care for the children. The father is reported to be deceased. At this time, these young children are in need of an attorney to represent their legal wishes and rights as to permanency, placement, visitation, and to ensure appropriate services are in place. Next Hearing(s): Review Hearing on 9/17/2024 at 3:00 pm and Permanency Planning Hearing on 3/18/2025 at 2:15 pm in Courtroom 11.
