An infant baby boy is currently in the custody of Clark County Family Services due to charges of neglect, parental drug use, and potential harm to the child. Both parents demonstrate reckless behavior, caused by their apparent long-term drug use. The father of this child has a string of prior arrests relating to violent activity, including burglary, domestic violence, and assault. Both the mother and father fail to demonstrate sufficient parental knowledge and are unable to provide a healthy, safe environment for their baby boy. Both parents recognize their inability to care for the child and are willing to cede guardianship to the paternal grandmother, who already cares for another one of their children previously removed from parental custody. This vulnerable infant is in need of legal representation and advocacy. The next hearing is on February 18th, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in Courtroom 11.
