Client is a Spanish speaking individual who lives in Las Vegas. She and her neighbor, adverse party, share a boundary wall separating their properties. Adverse party had an above-ground pool that he negligently placed within 60 inches of the boundary wall, in violation of Clark County’s building/pool and spa code. In June 2024, the pool lost structural integrity and a deluge of water flooded into client’s backyard, causing a hole in the boundary wall and damage to her backyard. Client has not reported any damage to the inside of her home or any foundation of the home. A lawsuit was filed by client's former pro bono attorney, but the the former attorney is no longer available and needs to withdraw due to personal case load. The parties stipulated to continuing discovery and are open to mediation. The current firm is available to provide a soft handoff of this matter.

Elderly client and her daughter are seeking assistance with an illegal vehicle repossession. Client’s purchased a car in November 2025 with first payment due on 12/10/2025. Client’s did not make payment until 01/02/2026, still within the 30 days. On 01/07/26 client received a text from dealership stating the loan was reassigned back to them and going forward all payments will need to be remitted to them. On 01/15/2026 dealership repossessed her car saying she was past 30 days late yet she had already made a payment to finance company which included the late fee. Client contacted finance company and they said to take the issue with the dealership and informed the client that she was only subject to a refund of $25 with no other explanation. Client contacted dealership and they advised she needed to pay almost $2,000 to get the car back which included monthly payments, late fees, and loan buy back fees. Clients did not have the money. Since they needed a car, they went out and bought a different vehicle elsewhere. Client’s do not wish to have the car back. They just do not want to be responsible for the loan and want their money back. She is aware she may not get her down payment of $1,500 back but feels that the finance company should send her full car payment back because they did not forward the car payment to dealership. Client also states that her credit report shows that she was current on the payment reported by finance company.
