Acceptance of a NEW pro bono CAP case is appreciated. It is standard knowledge that education outcomes for kids in foster care lag behind their peers in grade performance, attendance, graduation rates, and opportunities for post-secondary education. From covering laws that directly impact our kids in school to identifying kids with disabilities, Gillian Barjon, Esq., (Education Advocacy Program Team Chief in the Children’s Attorneys Project at Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada) presents concrete tips to improve practice and help ensure foster children get the support they need to be successful in school and beyond.
