In Nevada, children are parties to an abuse/neglect case brought by a child welfare agency; under Nevada law, those children have a right to representation by an attorney. This class is an introduction to effectively representing children in foster care. Attendees learn how to establish an attorney/client relationship with clients of all ages. The class also provides an overview of the child welfare system and the life of an abuse/neglect case. Lastly, the class touches upon common issues, including sibling connections, mental health, and delayed permanency.
