Eric Dante

Eric Dante is a diligent volunteer with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, bravely taking on some of our most urgent cases in our Immigration Advocacy Program and participating regularly in our Small Business Ask-A-Lawyer.

Mr. Dante first became involved with our various programs after connecting with our Pro Bono Team during a firm visit in November of 2021. The visit was part of a longstanding collaborative relationship between his firm, Holland & Hart, and the Legal Aid Center. Mr. Dante states that Immigration matters, and particularly our Afghan Asylum Project, had ‘struck a chord’ with him. Ever since that initial visit, Mr. Dante has been earnestly assisting some of our most disadvantaged community members to obtain asylum, temporary protected status, and adjustment of status (“green cards”).

Not only does Mr. Dante provide life changing legal assistance to these vulnerable individuals, he also cultivates a robust interpersonal relationship with his clients. In moments of emotional intensity, Mr. Dante provides support and encouragement. For instance, when prompted to recall a memorable volunteer experience, he recounts an indelible Christmas in 2025 where he waited at the airport lobby alongside one of his anxious clients. This client, specifically, had not seen his wife and six children in person for over three years– a sudden incident in their home country caused them to be unwillingly separated. Eric states, “I was privileged to be with him while we waited for his wife and kids to get off the plane. I will never forget seeing them come back into each other’s lives in front of me after over 3 years of separation.” Ultimately, he states, “it was the most fulfilling moment of my legal career so far by a very large margin.”

Inspired by his wife and his three school-aged children, Michael, Charlotte, and Matthew, Mr. Dante cites his motivation for doing pro bono work stems from his desire to ‘practice what we preach.’ According to Mr. Dante, this includes to ‘always give something back,’ especially when you’re in the position to do so.

For his continued commitment to pro bono, we celebrate Eric Dante as our May 2025 Volunteer of the Month!
