For April 2026, we celebrate Francisco Morales as our Volunteer Attorney of the Month. Since his first pro bono case in 2023, Francisco has taken on 13 pro bono matters in several of our programs, including: Immigration, Guardianship, Consumer, and Family.
Providing imperative legal assistance, Francisco’s willingness to join our most urgent cases makes a world of difference for these deserving clients. Our Guardianship cases, for instance, move incredibly quickly– we seek qualified attorneys to advocate on behalf of children whose lives are disrupted by sudden life changes. In one such case, Francisco represented a 15-year-old boy who required a new guardian after his mother passed away and his father was taken into police custody. Now, this child has a supportive caregiver who can provide him with the home he needs. In a Consumer case, an elderly woman was misled into signing a financially destructive contract by a dishonest auto-repair shop. Without Francisco’s strong legal representation, this vulnerable older woman would have been forced to pay thousands of dollars under a contract stipulation she was initially unaware of. Fortunately, with Francisco by her side, the client’s predatory loan was fully discharged. These two clients are among many others who have had their life trajectories positively altered by Francisco’s unyielding passion for pro bono.
